Loved the hainanese chicken and it comes with the best soup! I think portions are ok but depends on the day and availability, must reserve chickens if you want to guarantee they have it in restaurant as it was suggested. Their food was very tasty, been there 3 times. They ... only take cash or debit and it's really hot inside if fans are not on. Also, a very small restaurant. Parking is plentiful and free though. I ordered the laksa noodle soup with chicken during my visit. Initially, it looked great when it was served. Unfortunately, after tasting it, I cannot recommend it. The noodles were extremely overcooked and fell apart easily—I didn’t even need to use my teeth to cut them; my lips were enough. ... This significantly ruined the experience. The service was very average, and it felt like the staff were a bit annoyed by our presence. On the positive side, all the food we ordered was served in a reasonable time. Read more
My regular place to get Hainanese chicken rice, one of the best in Vancouver. Satay is very tasty, too.
I think their strength is the hainanese chicken rice because I saw a lot of people ordered that. Their hainanese chicken rice earned them 2 star from me. The rice was flavorful and not too oily. The satay was well marinated. Sweet but not much spices. The satay sauce was pretty ... plain - almost like peanut butter. Satay perhaps, but not Malaysian style. It's missing some spices. The worst was char kuey teow. Not sure where they got their char kuey teow recipe from. But it didn't look like one and didn't taste like one. Read more
The Hainanese chicken with rice and veggies dishes are great. I haven't tried the other dishes yet, so I can only comment on what I had. The satay skewers are also decent. The prices are reasonable.
