Banana leaf - Vancouver, British Columbia

It’s been years since I’ve been to this one. Restaurant has parking at the back via the alley way. Access via a rather difficult narrow stairway and best to drop off in front. Found the lighting a tad too dark and menu design difficult to read. Staff was very friendly ... and responsive though and guided us with the menu selections and made the meals much more enjoyable. Small menu items were great choices and a larger a la carte menu probably is best for large gatherings or larger appetites. Mango margaritas were simply awesome. Enjoyed this visit a lot in the company of a previous colleague and a very good friend. An awesome place just to catch up and catch a tad. A recommendation. Read more

Serene ambiance, delicious food, reasonable prices, genuinely friendly, attentive service, just enjoyed eating a fulfilling meal here with a group of friends. Tried their flavorful lunch menu, but you really can’t go wrong with any item you pick.

I’ve always known of Banana Leaf, but don’t know why i never got the chance to visit. i’m glad i brought my family here for father’s day dinner! the service was exceptional and i especially loved the decor. it a really good experience trying new foods and flavour combinations i was ... not familiar to. i enjoyed the mango papaya salad the most, finding the dressing and mint super refreshing! we ordered a side of eggplant fries which simply melted in my mouth. another highlight was the sablefish which seemed small but was packed with flavour and so so so tender 🤤🤤 we ended our meal off with mango sticky rice. food arrived one after another, giving us time to savour the current dish and we were constantly checked up on, our waters topped up which was greatly appreciated. thank you banana leaf! Nothing beats the OG when it comes to Banana Leaf Broadway location. The staff was patient and attentive despite a kitchen hiccup during service. They were apologetic and prompt to offer alternative. We order more than enough food for just the 3 of us and left with a full belly. And they ... took the care to pack up the leftover into nice little packages. Thank you from your happy diner! One of the best restaurants around! The sheer ambience of this place was a breath of fresh air. Bright colors and an open space made for a very comfortable group meal. Food here was great - so many different options and a rich variety. Our Char Kuey Teow was especially good. My ... one criticism would be the very minimal protein portions - would have appreciated a standard amount given the restaurant pricing.
