Ethiopian food seems hard to mess up; it's delicious here too, though not quite as good as some of the other places I've had. Unfortunately, there are a couple of non-flavour issues with the place. First, their opening hours are very unclear - they're not on the website or on the ... storefront, Yelp and Google list different times (both incorrect), and it seems like many people have come only to find them shut. I asked the manager and he told me they open at 6 PM, which is later than any of the sources state, so I've suggested an edit and I hope Google fixes that. I have no insight into the lunch hours, but it sounds like those aren't being held to either. Second, their menu is a bit more diverse than most Ethiopian restaurants, which seems good - but when I went, they were out of what felt like half the menu items. No goat stew, no skewers of any kind, no fish, none of the African beers that were on the menu, none of the local craft beers or beers on tap that were on the menu. It was disappointing to be told several times in a row that all the things we'd picked weren't there. The food was also quite slow in arriving, and some of it, while tasty, was rather cool, not the piping hot I've had at other places (maybe that was intentional - it was specifically the veggies that were a bit cool). So, while I still really enjoyed the actual taste of the food (the lamb stew really was delicious), the overall experience was frustrating at a couple of turns. There's a much more consistently good place a few blocks away called Fassil that I would rather return to. Read more

Delicious food. Great service. Enjoyed the veggie combo for two with 4 dishes: lentil, split peas, spinach, cabbage and carrot stew. We were full and took home the rest for next day's lunch. Great selection of vegetarian options. Lots of flavors and colours. Very friendly host, she told us a lot about each dish, it's ingredients and preparation process. Lamb with cardamon rice was awesome (don't remember the authentic name). There are high chairs, our baby daughter liked the place. Reasonable price for tasty and good portions. We had a morrocan tagine and the goat stew. Both were tasty and came with bread or rice. Sadly my toddler didn't like much except for the goat stew ( they specially made it mild for him). Next time I would like to ... try it at regular spice level as I think it lost something with the lack of spice. A booster seat was offered and appreciated. Read more

Took one star off for the wait time for food. It took 43 minutes for the food to get to our table after ordering. The food was great and everything had wonderful flavors. Prices were reasonable.
