I stumbled upon this place by accident, just happened to be driving by and saw a Pho place at the right time. It tasted incredible, the be at part being the meats. Try their rib and brisket special if you can. It comes with this huge beef rib, tons of ... beef brisket, and flavourful broth. The service is quick, with the chefs singing in the back, which is fun. I am always willing to try new places when it comes to pho, and Cantonese chowmein. There is a few pho places on my list but since I drive past this place every day I decided to check it out. The place is advertised as Vietnamese street food, I have no ... idea what the streets of vietnam sell but I can tell you that this place has pretty much the same menu as any other pho place I’ve been to. The only thing that makes it “street” is that there is no tables. There is two benches and a bunch of high chairs/stools where people sit side by side… inside the tiny venue of the restaurant. The cashier serves as the waitress as well, and for the 30 or so minutes I was eating I saw her mess up almost very order except mine lol I got lucky i guess. The benches had one large container with chopsticks, sauces, spoons, etc… which was annoying becsuse i was sitting next to it and the couple next to me kept on coming over to grab more napkins etc… it was lacking in privacy and that is why I am guessing this place labeled itself as “street food” instead of buying a couple tables. The soup was served on a stainless steel bowl. Not gonna lie, when I was in China it was common for the workers at the factories I visited to get their food served on stainless steel bowls and cutlery but in Canada I felt like I was eating from a pet’s bowl. I prefer normal plates and bowls and specially the ceramic spoons for soup. The soup itself was meh and meh can be. I ordered the special soup with everything. Worth mentioning is that their special contains chicken which was a first for me; whereas all other pho places the special tends to be rare beef, beef balls, tripe and tendon or something along those lines. Chicken in the special wasn’t good for me. The noodles and the soup were meh, the broth didn’t taste fresh or had much taste at all actually. Normally when I go to a pho place if I like the soup I don’t even put any condiments but in this case I was grateful for the spicy sauce there on the communal spice rack next to the chopsticks and spoons. The grilled beef was a good option. The vegetables inside weren't traditional and felt like I was eating the same salad on another meal. 402. Beef Stew (With Rice Noodles) $14.75 The beef wasn't tender enough and the flavors were a bit lighter. 603. Rice with Pork Chop, Grilled Chicken and.Egg Quiche $16 Pretty Good. The pork chop was tender and well grilled. The chicken was very good with lots of lemon grass and tumeric. The quiche was good too. Would recommend this dish. What a cute little place! They don’t have much seating (just bar stools, about 8 of them), but if you want a take out place to eat Vietnamese food this is a great spot.
