I have enjoyed Thai Express in past but found a major deterioration of quality. 1. Largely empty but staff didn't bother cleaning tables. Most (90%) were visibly dirty. 2. Counter poorly designed and can't see preparation. 3. Meal in small container, not plates. Horrible. Plates extra charge. Unbelievable for $16.00...chinsy beyond belief. Suggested ... opening carton as a plate. 4.chicken portions were not decent as expected for this dish at this price. Last time i will EVER eat at Thai Express. Much better value and quality at so many other places. Read more
I ordered two portions of pad Thai, one spicy and one mild. Both are tasteless, inedible. No egg, no green onion, no peanuts, no salted radish. No flavour. There is more flavour from a packet of instant noodles.
It says close 9pm. As you can see this was taken 835pm. No where to sit. Just got off work and want to eat somewhere. If the hours is not 9pm then don’t advertise as such. Really frustrating. And just got the fried rice it’s wet and soggy. It is not fried ... rice. Read more
Best to order ahead of time since I had to wait for 25 minutes for my order to be made. It is a shared restaurant with a Mr Sub outlet with each of them being totally separate. These days, due to COVID, you only enter from the entrance of the side street ... and exit from the Yonge St door. They have enough sanitazer containers for customers use. If you want peanuts and/or hot sauce, you have to ask for it. The Pad Thai and Pad See were OK but it is certainly a quick service restaurant quality and not of a good Thai restaurant. The Sausage fried rice was bad and the inside of the sausage did not look like a meat sausage. The chicken nuggets were too dry. The spring rolls were very average. If you like sweet dessert, the chocolate cake is sweet and taste OK. There are (paid) street parking except for rush hours and there is a small Sober supermarket around the corner so if you are also doing some grocery shopping, you can probably use one of their free parking spots. The Ultimate Betrayal 2024-06-06 Update: They are once again serving 3X spicy fried rice, so my new review would be 5 stars; however, I'm going to leave my current star rating up for a few more months to ensure they don't rug pull. I'm just an average Joe caught up in the ... Toronto rat race who works hard, pays his taxes, and does his best to not let the weight of the world's problems crush his soul. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs: My vice is Thai Express's Basil Fried Rice - 3X spicy (BFR3X). As such, I can frequently be found patronizing the Yonge & Davisville location where they have a Top Chef that spices things to perfection. If my review ended here, this would be a 5 star review. Today I was in a particularly chipper mood and decided to pay this location a visit to end off my week right: BFR3X made to order by my favorite Top Chef. Unfortunately, things soon took an unexpected and dark turn. I was informed that the location's manager was on site that day and it was against corporate policy to do anything higher than 1X spice. Panic set in, but despite my desperate pleas, this manager would not waiver from her authoritarian ways. I soon found myself back on the street with BFR1X, and an overwhelming sense of emptiness that no amount of BFR1X could ever fill. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous! My faith in humanity has been shaken to its very core and I now question whether I shall ever be able to taste from the Garden of Edan, that which I had briefly experienced at the Yonge & Davisville location thanks to my dear Top Chef.
