Spice Thai Cafe - Toronto, Ontario

It took about 5 min for us to be noticed and seated. It wasn't busy. We were greeted by a friendly host. We got a small seafood lemongrass soup and a mango salad. I asked for no meat in the salad. Found a few pieces of chicken in it. My husband asked for a ... fried rice, asked for no spice. It was very spicy. The food was ok. It took a while to get our food and It was over-priced. I'm going straight to the point: We were having a great time biking with few friends and we decided to go in and have some food to get some energy. The food was just ok. The guy in the picture was our waiter and seemed a little odd with his fake laughs. He ... kept saying we are the best restaurant in downtown for over 20 years. He kept trying to force us alcoholic beverage so my friend asked him about the price. Out of no where, the waiter called my friend a cheap person and told him if you ever go on a date with a girl don't ever ask about the price in front of her. So I'm looking at my friend's face and I could feel he was embarrassed while his face was turning red because he felt like he was being humiliated by the waiter. I usually don't write reviews like this, but today was a very strange experience and I wanted to share this with rest of the people who cares about a good customer service before they go into this place. Great little place, I had the pad Thai lunch special and it was a very good portion I wish it was a little bigger but I can't complain. The bartender was very nice, but there were no other real staff on duty so I'm not sure what you are supposed ... to do if you want to sit down. Read more

Great Thai food right on the water. It's a sneaky little spot that's been around for quite some time. The interior is funky and the patio has a nice little view!

Finally got to try the place and its food. My app was having issues and the 3 photos I uploaded got posted several times, sorry! The place was almost empty nevertheless the service was quite slow, I understood only 1 waitress available so I didn't mind. Prices are very reasonable ... although the 2 good beers (Tiger & Singha) were sold out. The woon sen didn't taste good, the soup was OK. Read more
