Not what it used to be. Shrinkflation seems to have hit this place hard. Portions have reduced significantly and prices have gone up. The dining experience feels no different from a fast food joint. Goal seems to be to get as many diners cramped in the small space as possible, ... feed them, collect money, repeat. Tables are so close together. We spent maybe 30 min from entering, eating and leaving. Staff seems quick to clean the tables after the meal that it feels like it's time to go. Last time dining here. Read more
So, Khao San Road is kind of off the beaten path, but since you're in downtown Toronto, nothing is truly off the beaten path. The best way to describe this place is very unassuming. You walk in and it feels like a takeout counter—definitely no glitz and glamour here. So, ... it's all about the food and, of course, the service. The interior is oddly L-shaped, narrow, packed with people, and a little noisy. As you glance around, pretty much every table has an order of squash fritters as an appetizer. Naturally, we indulged in these tasty, crispy delicacies and made sure to get an order of the hot chilies on the side. This allowed us to dip the fritters in the provided sauce while adding some nice hot chili flavor. We ordered the pad thai, and I'll tell you, it's been a long time since I've had an excellent pad thai. I would rate this as the best I've had to date—perfectly balanced flavors, the right amount of texture, and the rice noodles were the perfect width. Phenomenal. We also had the pad gra prao (beef), but in comparison to the pad thai, it just couldn't hit the same level. I didn't really care for the texture of this dish, and it was a little too sweet for my taste. Cheers Read more
I’ve been dining at Khao San Road for 6 years and I’m a little flabbergasted I haven’t written review. It’s perfect. They have their spice levels down to a science. I’d personally recommend level 3 if you enjoy spice. If you don’t levels 1-2 will suffice. If you’re down for a ... challenge go for 6. I can’t vouch for 11. But if 3-6 is any indication of heat level, I’d wager don’t go 11. My go to dish is the Three Flavours Pad Thai. You just can’t go wrong with it. Just fantastic. Usually in the winter I’ll pivot to the Khao Soi. Unbelievable flavour in the broth and just another great dish. If you’re interested in a starter the squash fritter is sure to satisfy. Add on a glass of Thai ice tea and you’re in for a great time. It can get a little busy and they don’t take reservations so be prepared for a potential wait. But man is it worth it. Simply put. One of my many favourite Thai places in downtown, Khao San Road is a great place for a quick Thai fix. It used to be located along Adelaide west years ago and their lunch menu was way better than it is now. They used to have more choices as well. That ... being said, I’m still happy that there are many good Thai places in DT. We had the Bangkok Pad Thai and the Pad Kra Prao chicken. Both were good although the pad Thai was a bit too sweet. They have a combo upgrade for a small fee where we got a small Tom Yum soup (almost like a sampler) and a fresh spring roll cut in half. Service was good. Read more

I have been waiting to try Khao San Road for a while now and I’m extremely happy I did. Of course, I came for their Khao Soi and was not disappointed. I ordered the Khao Soi and upgraded to beef for $1.50. I highly highly highly recommend upgrading to beef ... from chicken. This dish was so rich, creamy, authentic and just overall delightful to consume. The portion size was also more than enough as I was extremely full and satisfied. The restaurent interior was unique and it was just a fantastic overall experience. This is easily the best spot in the city for authentic Thai cuisine! Thank you for the kind hospitality and amazing service. Read more
