Dee Thai Cuisine - Toronto, Ontario

We ordered the Pad Thai, Khao Soi and Mango sticky rice. Unfortunately, I've had better Thai food in the city and I wish that weren't the case as I live so close! The Pad Thai noodles are slightly thicker than what I'm used to, and I found the pickled veggies in ... the Khao Soi strange. That said, their shrimp is ginormous. I liked that the mango sticky rice had toasted cashews, but the sticky rice felt like it was pre-made and reheated. The servers were nice and there's a calm vibe here. I made two visits to Dee. One with a vegetarian friend and one with an omnivore like me. Both times, service gets 5+ stars. Friendly welcoming staff who know the menu well and clearly enjoy the food themselves. In both visits I had the vegetarian spring rolls. My companion for the ... first meal asked one of the servers her favourite appetizer and that's what she picked. They ARE good. We had Khao Soi, a dish with soft noodles, chicken, deep fried noodles and a golden curry sauce. I visited northern Thailand and took a cooking class and we made this dish. It was delicious. We also had pad thai with tiger prawns. It's served 'deconstructed' with the different ingredients side by side on the plate rather than all mixed together. The vegetarian meal included vegetable tofu panang curry. We also tried purple rice which has a nutty flavour. The space is beautiful. I was originally drawn to the restaurant from a review on another platform that said entering the restaurant was like walking into a painting. Two favorites that take me back to the warmth and flavors of Bangkok. The noodles are irresistible! The sauce hints of sweet, spicy, tangy in each bite even as you know the color tells you to get ready for a full dose of flavor. Each bite was a balance of sauce ... and noodle. The coconut cream sauce was the perfect matchmaker for mangoes and sticky rice. Nothing in these two gets lost in the sauce. Simply delicious! Read more

I've been looking for a good Crab Rangoon and this is it! Not your typical Thai restaurant. Delicious options for food and drinks. Nice, bright and clean interior and a lovely themed patio in the summer. Yummy Thai Iced Tea and Thai Sangria!

Good ambience, convenient location and good portion size but food ain't that good and little pricey too. I ordered pad thai and green curry with rice. Well pad thai was sweet which is not in line with the thai food generally as I was expecting it too be little spicy. ... Green curry was good in taste but there was too much of soya in it. And then cheese balls, just three cheese balls for $6.99, for one it's expensive and second the cheese balls were so big, it's hard to expect anyone to have one complete cheese ball in one go.
