The XLBs were really good. The filling was juicy and flavourful. The silk skin dumpling was just had a thinner wrapper. The pan fried buns had a lot of oil to it but I liked them because they possessed a slight crisp while retaining its soup. The chicken was perfect. ... They brought us a huge basket of it too. The texture was crunchy and lightly seasoned with cumin and salt. I highly recommend it. The fish was quite questionable. They seemed to have made it very sloppily compared to the more traditional version because the fish fillet still had bones in it. I mainly ate the shrimp. It ended up being really soggy and full of fried dough. The mochi balls were pretty nice. Read more
Cozy place for Shanghai food. Hot and sour soup with shrimp and pork was well balanced with flavour. Dumplings with broth inside, very hot and fresh. The noodle soup with peanut sauce was a bit too runny. The outer coating of the mochi balls with red bean paste was dry ... and chewy, like it was over microwaved. Otherwise a decent place overall. More of a 3.5 average mediocre restaurant. Food is good but nothing too special. It is very clean and tasty with a large variety of food choices. Food here isnt oily and portions are average to small. The place is relatively small and its hard to get a seat at ... times. There isnt a lot of parking out front either. Food comes out quick and pricing is average also. Read more
Food authenticity - A- Food freshness and taste - B Atmosphere - C (too cramped) Service - F There were two separate yelling incidences between customers and a waitress here (it was the very tall and lanky Chinese woman if it matters). Whether she was having a bad day or whatever, I have never ... seen a restaurant wait staff as rude as her. She yelled at us to sit down at the table right by the entrance when we asked to sit another identical sized table instead. She exclaimed impatiently that table was being held for a reservation. 15 minutes after we sat down the table was still not taken, and then a group of 4 who did not make the reservation sat there. Okay. Then as we were wrapping up our meal I heard an altercation begin between a man and the same waitress. He claimed that the fish he was served was certainly not fresh, despite the waitress explicitly assuring him it was. She arrogantly told him she couldn't take it back because he had already taken a bite of it. I didn't see the fish nor the bite but I felt terribly uncomfortable witnessing this. So did everyone else in the small cramped dining room, I'm sure. Very unlikely to return. I've been to their Richmond hill location and had a positive experience there. Read more

April 18, 2019 Wow do they have great tasting food. This restaurant never disappoints. We always enjoy our visit here and will continue to come back. Sept 2/18 Once again an outstanding visit to a wonderful restaurant. The place is small and tight so the seating is an issue ... now and then but the wait is well worth it!! The place is very clean and the service is very good. We have never had an issue dining here. The pop was very cold, the tea hot and the food was well prepared and visually appealing. Their menu is loaded with plenty of dishes to pick from. Outstanding place to dine. Great food!! Small place so it gets busy but worth the wait. I mean great food. Back again and the food is still great. One of the best hidden gems in Toronto. Read more
