The Captain’s Boil, Little Italy - Toronto, Ontario

This location was my first time having sea food bites in Toronto. Awesome place for sea food lovers. You can choose different sauce with your choice of sea foods. Good service and nice atmosphere. Would like to come back again.

OK so I've been to this live seafood restaurant chain before and even this location before when they first opened and they were really nice then, we even met the owner who turned out to be a friend of a friend. So you basically order your seafood by the ... pound and they bring it to you steamed with your choice of sauce in a bag to the table, theu give you plastic bibs and gloves to use as well. Decor is nice and sea themed. Food was on point, fresh and hot, absolutely delicious!. Out of the pound of clams we had all of them opened. The only thing that wasn't so good was our waitress. Right off the bat she seems like a real control freak and really rubbed me and my guests the wrong way. I had a very special guest in town for the holidays who wanted to try this place. When she called to see if they were opened on boxing day the waitress asked my friend like a dozens questions like how many we are, when we were going to come etc. When we got to the restaurant there was only 3 other tables (restaurant seats maybe like 60-75) but the waitress only offered us 2 tables to choose from, but other patrons were able to seat themselves wherever they wanted? Very inconsistent in their delviering of customer servce. Also we ordered drinks but the waitress felt it very necessary to clear a few tables before bringing us our drinks even though the restaurant was pretty much empty. As a server though you really should bring our drinks first so we can finish them and order more so we just went with the 1 order for drinks since the waitress was so unattentive, she even forgot to bring us the water that we asked for so we had to remind her again. I can't really describe it but the ambiance and atmosphere was really dampened due to the waitress we had. I really just wanted to have a nice meal and show my special guests a good time. I really didn't like her much as she didnt make me or my guests feel welcome or wanted, just rushed and an unwanted nusiance is the vibe i got from her. Eventually another waitress showed up who seemed so much more attentive and personable. But didn't end up helping us though. Overall I will return to this seafood restaurant chain again but not to this particular location because of the waitress we had. She definitely needs some training on how to properly treat patrons and guests and make them feel like wanted guests and to come again. The food really saved the day here. I also do recommend this seafood restaurant chain to others who enjoy fresh seafood but do not recommend this particular location due to the poor wait staff. Read more

Not a big seafood fan. When we visited the place they had just received a new shipment of inventory. The lobsters and crawfish were not fishy at all. We had our items just steamed so we can taste the product in the most natural form. Will return to ... try the in house seasonings. The customer service is excellent. I see reviews of other locations are not as great. I can speak for the college street location, big winner. Read more

I had their lobster and it was amazing. All their food is great and at a decent price. Really expensive setting, staff is great, kitchen was clean and bathrooms were pretty well built.

The design of the place looks great. The interior of the store theme matches the type of food their selling. But the music they play doesn't really match When we first entered the restaurant there was no hostess to greet us. We just stood at the door for a ... few minutes until someone finally came to seat us. They were not as busy as the other location. There was no wait and a few empty tables. The seafood came really fast which surprised us since it only took about a minute for the server to bring the food. The shrimps here were not fresh. When we got them they were warm and dry and lacked sauce. At the other location the shrimps would come out fresh and steaming hot. It was very disappointing Service was not that great. When we asked if we could get more sauce, the waiter just charged us for mini containers of both the flavours of sauce we had without informing us that there are additional charges. The extra sauce container was really small and not worth it comparing to other seafood boil places. Overall experience at this location isn't too good. But the other locations are great. Read more
