Such a gem! I hope this place continues for a long time. The grilled cheese and fries were such a comfort food, for less than $4. The owner is very friendly. Definitely an experience!

We know this small restaurant from Toronto Stars as it is already a 58-years old store. It is located in the old east downtown district and can be reached by taking TTC streetcar 501/504/505. We like the “old” and moody feels of the store, like in an old movie! Menu is ... simple and food very cheap. Club House only $2.95, it has chicken, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, bread nicely browned ….. Really old place run by a lovely elderly lady who's very kind and personable. Looks quite run-down inside but that's part of the experience in my opinion. Very no frills spot with nothing "fancy" about it, but I enjoyed the old-school diner feel. I realise it's not for everyone, but the ... food is simple and delicious. Really really cheap pricing & cash-only. $1 tea, $2.75 club sandwich and $3.50 for fries & a western omelette - I don't know any other spots so ridiculously affordable!
