We visited with friends on a weeknight. The restaurant looks pretty, with culturally adopted interior designs. I went to wash my hands before the meal, but spent few minutes just looking around in the washroom, it was very nostalgic. The attention to details was fascinating. The food however was average. We ... ordered Fesenjoon, baghali polo, boz ghorme and kashk bademjan. Boz ghorme was served with rice which was odd - traditionally it is served with bread. Homemade Boz ghorme is like a paste, when you take time to mash all ingredients. The one we were served, had chunks of meet and 2 fried eggplant on top. Eggplants were under cooked. Fesenjoon was the best of all dishes we ordered, I could call that “home style”. The rest of dishes were not really impressive. I have a strong sense of smell and I could smell the Lamb shanks even though I was not the one ordered them. Portions are not generous. My husband was still hungry and we ordered another portion of rice to eat with left over stews. The plates are large themselves but the rice portion on it is not enough for a man lol, we still had half of our stew and no rice left. Overall, we drove for an hour to get to Pomegranate, then spent another 10 minutes finding a carpark. I wont come back, even though it was okay to give it a try. Read more
