Very cheap price and delicious dumplings. 15 dumplings are 5 dollars. 32oz light ot black beer are 5 dollars.
Cheap authentic Chinese food and atmosphere. You can get a large pitcher of beer for 7 dollars. Nuff said
6 dollar pitchers (did I miss the 5 dollar deal?) and cheap, fairly tasty Chinese food. Say no more. Service isn't great, and yes - the place is a bit dingy and the atmosphere is somewhat depressing - but you're never going to find beer for cheaper in the city. Food ... comes out quick and it's authentic cooking. Dumplings were delicious (we prefer the pan-fried just because of the crispy bottom), bao zi (steamed bun, we had quail egg and meat) was good too. Was impressed as both were quite soup-filled; I couldn't even wait, think I burned my tongue a little. We also ordered the green onion pancake - a little disappointing, reminds me of a frozen one just heated up, but still fairly tasty. No terrible smell reported from my side, and the owner wasn't as surly as some reviews said - just a humble family with a young baby, trying to make a living. All in all, bill came to 40 bucks, pre-taxes for three pitchers, two plates of dumplings, bao zi, and the pancakes. Not bad! Read more
I went today with my girlfriend to have some of their cheap pitchers and have some dinner. The service was awful from the beginning. We chose our own seat and had to wave the waiter down to get menus. After ordering our pitcher we ordered some food. The hot and ... sour soup we ordered was like having intercourse in the pool--close to water, it had absolutely no flavour; like most of their other dishes. We also got an order that we didn't ask for, I wanted to know whether the waiter would recommend the fried eggplant dish after him saying it wasn't very good I didn't place an order. To my surprise however he brought this awful dish. When I explained I didn't want it he proceed to argue that I asked for it. He wrote it into the order sheet for me. He would not take it back and persistently argued. I conceded and took the dish assuming it would be alright. To my misfortune it was inedible. I didn't touch two out of four dishes I had on my table, one of which I didn't order. Not that I didn't like what I had, I'm not picky with what food I get, it was just that everything except the fried rice was bland oily and I would be ashamed to serve this imitation food if I was them. I live in Chinatown and often eat out. This restaurant has some of the worst Chinese food I've EVER had. I would recommend only ordering their $5 pitcher deal and staying away from all of their food. I gave this establishment 1 start because it's the lowest I could and because of their cheap beer. The customer service was beyond terrible (especially with the language barrier as the waiter didn't understand the simplest questions), most of the food was absolutely inedible and some of the dishes were dirty and the people who ran the place had no shame in the utter mess their establishment was. When I asked for another plate because the one I had on my table had old food crusted on the side I was surprised to have the plate taken away instead of being blamed for making it dirty myself. Alas, I almost forgot to mention the putrid smell in that place. It was a toxic mix of the most awful body odour and cheap greasy meat being sacrificed in the kitchen. It was like being canned into a sardine tin full of sweaty fishermen and dropped off at the nearest sewage treatment plant minus the treatment. Read more
The leek pork dumpling were small in size but tasted great. Wonton soup is pretty good and cheap! All in all the price is quite cheap comparing all around ChinaTown!
