Ramen Isshin - Toronto, Ontario

By far the best ramen I’ve had in the city. The broth is just *chef’s kiss* and the noodles themselves were outstanding. The staff were amazing. Will definitely be coming back.

We heard great things about Ramen Isshin so we decided to come downtown and give them a try. We came at around 6pm on a Saturday so it was pretty full but we got seated right away. A very popular spot, we visited during the 10th Anniversary Event and waited an hour and a half. By the time we were seated, the complimentary sake had run out. Feeling festive, we opted for the Hot Plum Ginger Wine, a warm and sweet drink. Our appetizer, Takoyaki, contained ample ... octopus nestled in a soft dough. The Roasted Garlic Shoyu impressed with its garlic flavor and a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg. The Black Sesame Tan Tan Noodles were decent, though I found the black sesame flavor overpowering. Both bowls had al dente noodles. While the broths were flavorful, they were on the salty side. Due to the event, we only had an hour to dine, but this wasn't an issue as the food came out quickly. Our lunch at ramen isshin was delicious! The Tako Wasabi was definitely my favourite of the appetizers, and we had the Red Dragon and Red Miso for our mains! Ramen was flavourful, delicious and filling. We had 2/3 veggie Ramen options. Vegetarian roasted garlic shoyu and vegetarian red miso. Lots of flavour, lots of noddles.
