The Badali Bar and Cucina - Toronto, Ontario

I went to Badali as a class dinner with Fanshawe college. The food was delightful, although I realized that our servers were busy, the service for our class felt a little neglecful. Other than that, amazing!

Kind of hidden and drowned out by its neighbours but a really good place to visit. There is a large amount of seating for different group sizes. The staff are extremely friendly. This type of restaurant is family owned and the restaurant interior goes long and deep. Food is tasty ... and comes in adequate to large portions (i.e. calamari). We went as a group of 13 people. Service was great and the atmosphere was as well. The place is not cramped and not too loud, so having casual conversation with a group was easy. The staff there were also very prompt and helpful. All of our orders, appetizers, desserts, coffee and ... whatnot were served without a hitch. This place was only so so. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was really dry. Almost no sauce at all. My friend had the penne and that was much better but still not more than average Italian food.

Went here for a networking dinner. Great ambiance, loved the look and feel of the place. Very warm and friendly, upscale Italian. Quite busy on a Thursday night and although I read reviews prior which warned us about the noisy environment, there were no issues for our party. Wait staff was ... very attentive, maybe too much so (just got my meal, someone asked me if I was finished). However, it did take them around 15 minutes to set my table and pass me a menu as I joined the party late and they didn't notice. Ordered the spaghetti with extra shrimp and a raspberry lemonade. Both delicious. Spaghetti was a white sauce, very creamy and heavy, bits of pork as well. Ordered the housemade gelato trio too - pistachio was to die for, chocolate fairly good and very rich, blood orange sorbet better left on the menu. Reasonable prices for great meal! Read more
