Remezzo - Toronto, Ontario

I went to Remezzo a little after the lunch rush. I liked the classic interior and the spacious layout of the bistro. The staff were great and I enjoyed every interaction with them! We had the escargot (w/ cheese), french onion soup, and veal parm. The escargot were juicy and I ... liked its accompanying sauce. Their french onion soup was saltier than I would like. Even with the accompanying bread, I thought the saltiness was overpowering. Finally, the veal parm we had was great. It comes with a side of spaghetti bolognese or their potato of the day. The meat is absolutely huge! And the bolognese sauce was delightfully meaty. The spaghetti is a reasonable portion for one person, but I'd definitely recommend sharing the veal with others at the table. I did think the veal could have used a little more seasoning, but overall it was a great dish. The price of the food is reasonable. Our entree was a steal, but their starters are a tad pricey. Also if you like cheese, this place adds plenty. I've never seen a restaurant add so much cheese on its dishes, but I'm not complaining. Read more

Great food. Very authentic tasting and great quality of ingredients. The Lasagna and French onion soup are a must try! The service was also Kind and courteous The prices is also amazing. Full dinner with apps only costed less than 30$ a person. Big selection available from the menu as well, ... so im definitely adding Remezzo to my list of places to try again! Read more

Tasty food! Went on Valentine’s Day and the place was full to the brim even at 9pm. The service was slow because of the rush but after getting allotted a server, it was alright. Must try the ravioli, remezzo cappuccino and the tartufo. Pizza was ok- nothing special. Vegetarian options ... available though the specialities were non-vegetarian. Remezzo Italian Bistro offers a varied dining experience with both hits and misses. The French onion soup showcased beautiful caramelized onions in a flavorful broth, topped with a slice of toasted bread and melted cheese. The sweet and savory combination of onions, the depth of the broth, and the gooey cheese ... created a comforting and delicious flavor. The delicious fried calamari featured a crispy golden exterior while maintaining tender, succulent squid. Lightly seasoned with a hint of salt and pepper, the dish came with a side of zesty marinara sauce for dipping. Next, we ordered the arancini balls, which had a mixture of spinach and goat cheese inside, resting on top of a bed of garlicky tomato sauce. The arancini had a golden color with a wonderful crunch, while the inside had a creamy blend of spinach and tangy goat cheese. The only disappointment was that the middle of the arancini balls was not hot. The Margherita pizza didn't quite hit the mark. The crust had a pita bread texture, lacking the ideal light and chewy feel. The combination of roma tomatoes, bocconcini cheese, and basil together tasted bland. To conclude the meal on a sweet note, we enjoyed a slice of tiramisu. Nice place to go to for Italian food with an old school atmosphere. Prices were reasonable with good portion sizes dishes. We also really enjoyed their homemade desserts like their tiramisu and creme brulee. Service was good as well.
