I am very disappointed in this restaurant. I am Italian 🇮🇹 I have been eating gnocchi, mostly home made, for over 40 years and am very particular about it. Yes, I have bought the pre-made, vacuum-sealed plastic packaged one from the grocery store, which I have used in a pinch, and am ... very familiar with its taste and texture. No flavour of potato whatsoever; I'm not talking about just a little, but it feels like I'm eating play-doh made of oil and flour. I *specifically* called the restaurant before ordering to ask if the gnocchi were home made or if they use the packaged ones. The hostess (or whoever answered the phone), assured me that they order them from a supplier. I said that I have had the commercial ones and they contain potato flakes and no potato, "are these made with real potato and not potato flakes, then?" She was emphatic (and with some snark), said, "No, they're real potato." And so I ordered them from Uber. Excited for my dinner, when it arrived, I opened the package to discover that the "gnocchi with real potato" was, in fact...that disgusting play-doh flour mix pre-packaged garbage that you can buy at No Frills for $2.50 - also note that I could make it myself for about $10, but had to pay $22 for it. GNOCCHI IS NOT REAL POTATO. I have reported it to Uber Eats and trust that the restaurant will, either step it up and get real gnocchi (or don't call yourself an Italian restaurant), or educate their staff on the ingredients so that they don't misrepresent their product. The sauce seemed like it came out of a Kraft Dinner Alfredo package or something similar, but it definitely does not have the cheeses that they report - it's mostly mozzarella. I've had better food on an airplane. What a let-down. This is NOT an Italian restaurant, but equivalent to the Italian-ness of an East Side Mario's. In the picture: Note the uniformity of each "gnocchi" which would not occur in properly-made, real gnocchi. Also, if you zoom in, you can see the yellowish, almost translucent colour (they should be solid white due to flour and potato). Read more
