The restaurant decor seems ok and the service provided by our waiter is ok - not too enthusiast but not rude as well. We ordered several dishes to share: 1. Beet salad - for $22, I think it should be better, nothing great or bad about this dish, it’s just ok. 2. Special ... of the day - Halibut with lemon risotto. The Halibut fillet is decent size and nicely cooked and soft inside. The risotto has a nice lemon flavor.. but it cost $40. So it’s ok as well. 3. Another special of the day - braised short ribs with Demi. The rib is cooked to very soft and easy to chew. The portion is not too big in my opinion and the sides are regular veggie placed on the side. Abit disappointed on the demi sauce as I was assuming it’s Demi Glace which suppose to have strong beef taste but the Demi sauce I have seems light in beef taste and feel starchy. And it seems the food was placed on a cold plate so the food touching the plate was getting abit cold already when arriving the table. I do like my food hot so wish they would have use a warm plate to start. Overall experience it’s average for the asking price in my opinion. It’s a good meal but not a superb one. Oh, the decafe coffee was very good though, better than expected! Read more
I am a passionate supporter of Italian cuisine and dining establishments. Whenever I visit a new place, my first priority is to seek out an Italian restaurant. Without a doubt, this restaurant surpasses all others I have previously dined at! In particular, the leadership and customer service are top-notch.
Can a cake that doesn't have flour taste good yes it can!! I had a work event and the I saw the menu I had to try to cake it had to be the moistest and delicious cake I ever had and it was chocolate. The restaurant is very ... small but it is a great location, and parking is close by. The subway is a bit far but after a meal like that, a walk is worth it! The service was excellent. Read more
My favourite Italian restaurant in North America!!!! We came across this place while walking down the street, so glad we decided to give it a try! It’s exceeded my expectations in all possible ways. The atmosphere is very cozy, with lots of elegant decorations. The service is top notch - not ... the super trained and polite (sometimes aloof) style, but the family / old friend style, they make you feel you are truly welcomed. The food….. so so good. We ordered the grilled calamari, the salmon pasta and the mushroom and prosciutto pizza. Each dish is 20 out of 10. Would definitely return to try their dessert - we wanted to order one this time, but our stomachs were too full. Great portion too! The best part - pricing is also reasonable, there’s no ridiculous markups as some other restaurants we’ve been to before. Read more
First time eating at the location, and just like their other location we had no issues at all. Food and service was great. Waiter was super attentive and made sure everything was good. I highly recommend the Gioia pizza, the drizzle of honey and fresh jalapenos complements the pizza amazingly.
