Florentia on Mount Pleasant west had been our goto italian joint in the recent years. We have dined in ( and ordered out) many times and has been overall a consistent taste experience. Menu is limited and has few good selections. Vegetarian options are good and welcomed. Seasonal menu items ( ... recently Burrata) are good too. The Pesto and Margareita pizzas are the best albeit have decreased in size and increased in price off late. Pastas dishes are good and taste fresh and flavorful as they made to order. They do have a decent collection of local wines. Could expand on the dessert options from Tiramisu. Service had been a hit and miss. Prices have increased post pandemic and portions could slightly improve. Overall a good family dining experience in the mount plesant whereabouts. Read more
It’s such a cute little restaurant with really good pastas. I LOVE the olive dip that they bring with bread. It was so delicious and fresh. We tried the grilled calamari and it was also very good. Our main meals ( the pastas) were good too. The price with tax ... and tip was around 40. Considering we got an appetizer and a main course, I thought the menu is reasonably priced however they can definitely improve their service. Read more
As an Italian food lover, I was very disappointed: The veal scaloppini was under-spiced (or unsavoury!), and the Fungi pasta, which could’ve been flavourful with all the assorted mushrooms flavours, was actually tasteless, being like a bowl of soaked overcooked pasta in milk :/ Salad: no dressing! Dessert: a hard no, too! It ... was a wrong idea to even go there being such disappointed by all the main dishes. So, not a surprise! Environment: the salmon/fishy smell from the kitchen was all over the place. / People were too loud in such a small place. / Washrooms were not clean at all. / a fly was flying around our table the whole time. / the table next to the door-window gets cold with each person coming in/going out. Staff: friendly, but too busy to take care of our table in time and properly. Read more
Went here last Friday based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. The service was great, the food was tasty and fresh. The bruschetta was one of the best I've had in a long time! And the Tiramisu with the limoncello was the perfect way to end the night. ... The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and they have a cute patio as well. I will definitely be going back for the Grilled octopus, bruschetta and some of the pasta dishes and of course dessert. Oh, and and it's a good price point. Read more
Florentia is a cute, local Italian restaurant that serves truly delicious food. The mastermind behind this establishment is Chef Eli. His experience in the culinary arts is humbly demonstrated on each plate. The prices are very fair. And the service provided by Antonio was professional. I will be coming back soon.
