Came here with my girlfriend as our first dinner date . It was amazing , sangria was the best . , the service was excellent and our server was very attention to us, refilling bread as needed which was appreciated. For food, we got a variety, I personally got the pappardelle after a ... recommendation and I loved it! It was soo flavorful and I enjoyed every bite from beginning to end. I had high expectations coming into this place since it is run by Mark Mcewan. Sadly I was a little let down by the food, ambience, and service. Having frequented One, and Bymark I decided to try Fabbrica. The restaurant wasnt busy, and I sat at the bar. The counter ... was sticky and wasn't clean. The espresso machine clearly wasn't cleaned after steaming milk (look at the picture). I was there for about 2 hours and the milk had dried and caked on the steamer. I don't imagine the next person ordering a drink with milk would be happy about that. Perhaps my expectations are too high? The service wasn't bad, but left a little to be desired. There was no quality check for appetizer until I was finished already. I saw all the staff sitting at the host stand sitting there talking to each other. The food runner / busser seemed to be the most friendly and hardest working of the bunch. The food was mediocre at best. The prices were in line with alot other fine dining restaurants as I ordered a 20$ octopus salad as an appetizer, and a 28$ short rib hash. The octopus was charred (in my eyes a bit too much) as the bitterness of the char combined with the pepper notes of the arugula was a bit overpowering. The short rib hash was the most disappointing. The eggs are probably poached over medium, the yolks were not runny. The potatoes had no roast to them, I'm not sure if that's intentional. Other than the bread there was no texture what so ever. It seemed like the potatoes were tossed in after being par boiled with the gravy and everything tasted soggy. Flavour wise it was okay, but was really one note. Overall I would not return as there are many other establishments which offer better food, service, and ambience. Read more

I’m impressed by the service and overall deliciousness of this place. I sat in the corner booth on the patio and it was a bit loud - busy street behind me - no fault. Beauty was my server and she took the best care of me. My food was ... cooked to order and everything was so simple, well done and so delicious. Please get this delicious wine (picture attached) and the mozzarella and tomato and basil salad. A perfect way to start the beautiful summer evenings. The grilled asparagus side has a lemon finish - so good! Omg - the bread is so crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. A true Italian bread. Enjoy! Read more

Simple dishes full of flavour and who doesn't love a good wood fire oven pizza? Gnocchi was incredibly light and fluffy (only critique is that it's rolled into a log and then cut) but the sauce was amazing. You want to eat up every last drop. Albeit our party was quite large and it was quite apparent all of it being paid on the corporate card, the service was excellent and extremely attentive. I don’t think my glass was ever empty at any point during the meal. The server was very nice and very professional, although ... there was a young waiter who appeared intermittently didn’t quite have the social graces. Perhaps he was a busser … Nearly knocked the back of my head several times clearing plates. All the food was amazing, the octopus starter was excellent and very tasty, I had the soppressata pizza which would rival any establishment who’s speciality is pizza.
