Bar Italia - Toronto, Ontario

I had my son's First Communion at Bar Italia on April 29, 2017. They have a lovely space upstairs from their main restaurant to hold private functions. I will most definitely come here again. The food was absolutely amazing, they work within your budget to set a menu. My guests ... were stuffed and all had a great time. The staff that waited on us had to deal with an unexpected hiccup and handled it amazingly without my guests even realizing what was happening. Awesome customer service. As for planning my event I could not be happier with how well I was taken care of and how on top of every detail they were. Went here for this Valentine's Day. Had a prix fixe menu that just overall delicious. I can't stop thinking about the chocolate truffle cake lol. My partner and I were pleased with our friendly and attentive server. Great ambience for a date. Would definitely recommend.

Went here with a group of 8 people for a birthday celebration. We were pressed for time as everyone in my party including myself showed up late. The staff at Bar Italia accommodated us and the service was fantastic. Food came out as quick as it could and tasted absolutely ... delicious. I recommend the Gnocchi ! I was one in a group of 7 people. We stayed for a few hours and chatted quite a bit, but the staff was very understanding and worked around us. I ordered the Panino Di Pollo: Grilled chicken breast, goat cheese, melted onions, watercress and roasted garlic mayonnaise served on ... sourdough baguette. It was delicious. This place needs a complete overhaul. Decor, flooring ( has holes) a really good cleaning too! The menu is lack- luster and the quality was not worth the prices charged. I had a pasta that was tasteless. Ordered an espresso correcto but it was served without the liquor. "oops". Lots of ... staff mingling about, restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night in June. They have been resting on their laurels for a while it seems. Needs a new chef. Maybe this place was a go-to a while ago but the food is terrible, the portions are small and the prices are very high.
