When I was here 3 month ago I took Tagliatelle di Capesante and it was probably the best pasta I ever had. The seafood with crispy chili combined perfectly and everything tasted ideally. Today I took Agnolotti di Ricotta and it did not quite meet my expectations. It had just a ... few speck pieces that seemed separate from the rest of the dish, the lemon sauce seemed a little watery and the acidic taste did not combine that well with mushrooms and the rest of the dish. What a fantastic, quaint, little corner spot. The menu is very reasonably priced too. We decided to sit on the patio, and the vibes were quiet and relaxing. The street traffic is low in this area making it perfect for conversation. The Calamari Fritti was a great start to the ... meal, lightly fried and nice and tender. For our mains we had the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was simple and delicious. And the real star of the show was the Agnolotti Di Ricotta, the pasta was so tender, and the smokiness from the mushrooms was an amazing burst of flavor, and it sat in a rich and light parsnip butter sauce, I highly recommend getting this dish. Ascari is one of the best restaurants in Toronto, hands down. Every time I go, I’m blown away by the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the service and the way that they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Amazing Italian food at reasonable price. Tried 2 different pastas with on recommendation from the server and it did not disappoint. Also got the battered brocollini and tartar to start and both were amazing!
