I recently visited Amano at Union and ordered two dishes, expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a few issues. Firstly, the taste of both dishes was surprisingly similar, which was a letdown. I had hoped for distinct flavor profiles, but instead, they tasted almost identical. ... We visited Amano on weekends. The restaurant was not crowded. The staff was good. I think the service is a bit slow, if you are very hungry avoid this restaurant and if you have patience and wait for food to come to your plate a little bit slower, you can ... visit here. What a surprise for to find an amazing Italian restaurant in Union station. A great place for a quick bite or a full meal. We did not have a reservation and actually walked in for a cup of good coffee and some appetizers but did end up eating. service was great and ... so was the ambiance of this place. We throughly enjoyed the warm olives which was a side and the pizza the most. The quality was def amazing and very fresh. Portion size was also great. Located inside Union Station, this unassuming Italian restaurant serves much better food than one would think of for a subway/train station. I tasted multiple dishes here and my favourites were the calamari, fries and the grilled chicken sandwich. Stellar, flavourful sandwich that I will be happy to re-order again in the ... future. Service was decent. Friendly upbeat staff. However being seated on the outside, my group and I did feel like we were forgotten about at times.
