Altona is absolutely incredible! Don’t matter what time of day it is! The meat is always juicy and tender! The rice, fluffy and well cooked! Plenty of sumac to go with grub and this place hits the spot every single time! On the pricey end but great eats none the less!

Stumbled upon this gem from tiktok videos. It's a small place. You walk in, and the arorma of persian cuisine gently lifts you all the way to Iran. A variety of really delicious, what looked like, home cooked, ready to eat treats on the steam table gets your senses tingling. ... We ordered one of their meals. We had the Altona Kabob platter. It took a good 20 mins for our order, which for me was a sign that it wasn't pre done but freshly grilled. The meal consisted of an amazing chicken thigh kabob, minced Iranian kabab, and another beef kabob. Perfectly seasoned!! Had amazing grill marks with the right amount of char. The rice fluffy and full of flavour truly reminded me of the Iranian restaurants in Dubai. All the meats were juicy, and the roasted tomato and raw sliced onions really did compliment food. The food comes in takeout containers, so it's up to you whether you want to eat in or take out. We were happy to sit and eat it fresh. Definitely will come back to try more dishes. All I can say they serve high quality Persian food ( as a Persian himself ) , you should try their Gheymeh Stew , and Loobia Polo 100% ! They use original good quality Basmati/Persian rice and Lamb Meat ! The food tastes like home ! It even tastes more ... original than most of the restaurants in Iran ! Ultimate Persian fast food. A humble cozy place around Yonge Steeles, open till late, and even during the late hours they have fresh stock of kabobs ready to put on the charcoal grill. I have been here dozens of times and have tried most of their dishes, meats, and accompaniments. See pictures of ... their menu items. For tourists, I recommend the lamb shank plate, lamb chops plate, and altona plate. The lamb shanks are large and the broth is flavourful. Seasoned just right, meat is fall off the bone as it should be. The lamb chops were also fall off the bone and well seasoned. The altona plate comes with beef, chicken, and lamb skewers. All three meats were well-seasoned and tender. The chicken leg quarter is also good, but not the most memorable. All dishes served on plain or seasoned rice with raisins. Portions are huge. One plate can keep you full for an entire day. The onion salad accompaniment is aromatic. They have a decent selection of Iranian drinks and dippings. I did see a fee dessert choices and I'm sure they are good too. The interior is mostly tidy although it could use a bit more tidying up. Overall an excellent restaurant with original food. Read more
