I am not kidding when I say that this place is a hidden jewel. If you pass the bad outdoor stuff/location and not so modern interiors the dishes pack a punch. Do get fooled by judging the dishes as they look old and cold. The worker their will reheat it ... in microwave but that okay because it tastes absolutely awesome. I am a hotel management graduate myself, and I can tell you one thing all Indian/Pakistani restaurant have gravies and curries pre made, they just heat it on a pan or kadhai as opposed to this place where they reheat in a microwave. That's the only difference. In a way I feel these guy are at least honest about it, rather than pretending like most other places who serve hot & "fresh" curries. Lahori Chana is hands down the best. So unless you are desperate for Pakistani food and nothing else is open, then this place is barely worth visiting. Sorry Mr. But (owner), the food is terrible and overpriced. I eat "brown" food all the time but when the seldom times I ate there, I had bathroom issues every ... single time. Thus the conclusion is, IT'S NOT FRESH. The food sits there all day and night as it's 24hrs and not on high enough heat. So def room for bacteria to grow. I've seen Mr. But microwave the dishes after he grabbed it from what should be sufficiently hot buffet counter but it's not. Good luck to anyone who eats there. Very recently spent $30 total on a chicken Biryani, Palak Paneer, a naan, a coke can and one Gulap Jamen, all bad quality. Shredded-like chicken in the Biryani, not even whole pieces and the saag/Palak/spinach was slimy and so oily. My stomach was exploding after each bite which led to the bathroom few hours later. If you go in with realistic expectations, this is an awesome place! One of their common combos, for $15.99 you get to pick 3 curries, 2 naans and 1 pop. Just can’t beat that. That’s enough food for a huge lunch or dinner or even both! There’s at least 30 different curries ... and other dishes to choose from on a buffet style counter. The guy puts your choices in a container and warms it up for you. So yes, it’s not a gourmet place and not made fresh if that’s what you’re looking for. Just a no frills good food joint. The food was delicious, authentic, and incredibly flavorful. Most meat dishes come with an order of naan, a drink and lettuce. It is not as inexpensive as one might expect but the price is fair and portions are substantial. I would also be aware of how spicy some dishes are. ... If you can’t tolerate spicy (very spicy) food I would make sure to ask the owner the level of spice in each dish. Read more

I wish I can give half stars—as I write this review I am toying with 3 or 4... I was introduced to this place by an Uber driver whom I had asked to be taken to grab something quick before going home after work (after working a long long day) ... at midnight. He suggested King Place and adamantly insisted I ordered the Tikka Masala Chicken (hot)—I ended up ordering three items, 1 meat and two veggie on plain rice for $13.99 (pop included as well). They have a large selection of curries, meats all displayed buffet style (but it is not self serve). I ordered the Tikka Masala Chicken, Chana Masala and Alii Golbi on plain rice, ginger ale and desert, rasmalai. Rasmalai is not very commonly found so I was super happy to have been able to order it. Probably one of my favorite desserts, Ras Malai is dumplings made from cottage or riccotta cheese soaked in sweetened, thickened milk delicately flavored with cardamom. Serve it chilled and garnished with slivers of dried fruit. The food was good and portion was large—I ordered take out so you can either have it cold or heated up. I opted for cold since I was taking it home. Where the lack of a star comes in is because of the patrons that surrounds the area.
