Bombay Street Food - Toronto, Ontario

If you are a fan of Bombay's street food or want to explore one - chaats, vada pav, sabudana vada, chai and what not - this is the place to try. It's not as cheap as one'd like but for first timers, it'll be worth the nostalgic gastronomical ride.

Subpar taste for the price. their fries were the only good thing i had while there. i thought i was gettin more yogurt sauce with the keema pav none of the ginger either, beef was very mildly flavoured. the samosa chaat had no taste no omph. def not "bombay street ... food" as the name states. I went during off-peak hours and the experience was fantastic. Service was good and the food was quite good as well. It can be a little expensive especially because the portions are a little bit smaller but overall not bad. There's a variety of Indian Snacks and meals ... both vegetarian and non-vegetarian with an authentic taste. It's also 100% halal which is a huge plus point. Although we didn't try everything, the food we did get was very tasty. The vibe and atmosphere is also really cool!! Love how everything is Indian-themed. The place is a bit messy and there are a lot of tables that need cleaning and clearing up. But food is really good, there is a ton of vegetarian food options and the staff is friendly. Service is a bit slow but it is a good place to come ... on the weekend when you have lots of free time. The place is nice and people seem to be happy overall. Went to this place from looking at the reviews. Food might look appealing but taste isn’t all that great to be honest. For someone who hasn’t tried street food in India this place might seem great but it lacks the taste of true Indian street food. It’s also over priced ... which we initially didn’t mind since it’s in downtown but if it’s not good food I wouldn’t wanna pay so much. The Pani Puri was around $8, the Chicken Pulao was around $11 & the Lassi was $5. Most places in downtown get away with charging people a lot due to the lack of competition. If you want a quick Indian fix and don’t mind the taste so much, then go for it or else try somewhere else. Read more
