We didn't how fancy this place until we walked in. Had the Chicken Thali which was super filling and tasty. The Chicken Vindaloo curry was the right amount of spicy.

Good place to take your clients for lunch, since is close the financial district. The food is good, however the service surely can do better. The waiter discouraged us to order ice cream for dessert, and when some of us insisted it came without any fuss. Not sure why it ... was not recommended when asked. I didn't really get the feel of the environment because when we came in for the first time we were put in the corner. The place was presentable, staff was welcoming, the food was good but I expected better quality food for the price. Being an Indian and having been brought up in India, I have very high standards for Indian food and this restaurant satisfied my standards for good, authentic Indian food! The meats were tender and flavourful, a mark of effort and care put into the food. The dishes were presented well, the ... decor upscale and surroundings quiet. Good Food, Good Ambiance, Good service but a little pricey for the quantity of food they offer in Downtown Toronto Area. Many other Indian restaurants offer buffets for the same price as they offer a single dish. We ordered the Appetizer platter ($27) which had 3 chicken, 3 lamb ... and 2 Shrimp pieces. Though the food was really tasty I wouldn't spend this much on regular basis. May be a good place if you are throwing a party or inviting some guests but overall too expensive.
