Proof Vodka Bar – InterContinental Toronto Yorkville - Toronto, Ontario

I stayed here for a work related trip. I love booking unique hotels and thought I would have an exceptional experience. The front desk staff are friendly. The hotel is clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable but didn't give me a wow effect. When I arrived, I noticed the ... front desk offered someone checking in ahead of me a bottle of water. I'd just arrived from the airport. No one helped with my bags as I entered the hotel or up to my room. When it was time to check out, I wasn't offered any assistance as well. I love a great turn down service and believe it would be an added touch. Coffee and tea are offered in the rooms but no water to accompany them. An assortment of teas during the day and and a herbal bedtime tea at turn down would be a nice addition. The book Unreasonable Hospitality is a great book, I'd recommend. For the cost and given the appearance of the hotel, I believe more could be given in terms of service. The Intercontinental in Lyon France has gotten it right as it relates to service. It would be great if the GM could spend some time there bring back any ideas. In all, the hotel took care of what was necessary but nothing beyond that to set themselves apart from many other hotels. This is not worth the $300 price tag. The air conditioning was not working well, and we were sweating throughout the night. The WiFi didn’t work and when it connected it wouldn’t stay connected. Although we found some bugs on the bed I’m hoping they’re just bugs from the outdoors ... that got inside somehow. Overall it wasn’t a great experience because of the WiFi and air conditioning, but the price made it kinda a joke despite everything looking nice. Read more

I was looking for a hotel to treat my husband for his birthday and spend a few days in Toronto. The location sold me as it is close to restaurants, the TTC, and the ROM, which I have been wanting to visit for a while, and husband hasn't visited since ... he was in high school. They charge for every single thing even if you request a bottle of water to your room. A girl on the reception was super rude. They charge for valet parking, but you have to walk 2 blocks to pick up your car. We couldn't work from the hotel because the wifi is terrible. Highly recommend!Best hotel in Toronto for this price so far! Very spacious,light,fresh and comfortable room with all amenities you need.Lovely and freshly crispy bed sheets:) Clean new bathroom/shower with nice towels. They thought about all details that anyone could feel comfortable to stay here I liked a new kettle with a cute selection ... of tea ,Nespresso machine even we didn’t use it but it’s a good touch,slippers and bath robe.
