I was in a mood for a steak and eggs, and since this place is close to my daughter’s school I decided to give it a try. I read another review about how this place caters to old people and that is true. The decor and atmosphere is like a ... Time Machine to long long time ago. The patrons have aged but the decor has stayed the same. Another observation to make is that, this diner has a typical “Greek restaurant” feel, I don’t know how to describe it but the vibe you get is same as when you go to Frans or other Greek owned restaurants. It’s a feel, even the smell and the menu. The prices are not the highest but are also not the lowest. Considering I was coming for a steak and eggs I thought it was a fair ask. The food actually was very good. The home fries were delicious, crispy on the outside but chewy inside and the right amount of flavour. The steak, was good enough for a diner, wasn’t expecting steakhouse quality. By comparison I eat at another diner type restaurant the week prior (will review soon) and their steak and eggs was awful. Windfields was pretty good. I give the food 5 stars. The only reason I couldn’t write a 5 star review about them was the service was a little slow and the waitress was a little unfriendly + the atmosphere like another reviewer pointed out recently it’s not a “hip/cool” place.
