Reviews for Off the Hook in Toronto, Ontario
Sustainable, eco-conscious restaurant and bar, using seasonal, ingredients Amazing spot for fish and chips. They have a large gluten-free menu and also vegan options. I love this place.
Landon took great care of us (party of 12). He was super personable and quick. Fish and chips, 10/10. Also got the curry, super flavorful. Love the atmosphere and the place was clean. Bathrooms too. So happy we chose this place to satisfy our cravings. Will definitely be back when we visit Toronto!
We chose the bar level seat looking out the front window. Great food! The chowder was so full of fish it was more like a bowl of fish with sauce. Brussel sprouts are a must have. Fish and shrimps that we had were fresh and tasty. Great service from our ... server, just the right level of attentiveness and enthusiasm (it's an art) Only thing would be the ventilation in the open kitchen could be better, but hey, they serve fish and chips! What did you expect? Read more
I decided to give this place a try after I found it on a Google search for fish n' chips. I ordered a few oysters, which were tasty and fresh along with halibut and chip. I chose the vegan poutine as my side since I don't eat dairy. They don't use ... any dairy, eggs, or beer in their fish batter, which was nice. I found the halibut a little lacking in flavour, watery and chewy. The vinegarette coleslaw was fresh and delicious. The server was very friendly and helpful, and that made it an inviting spot with a cozy nautical atmosphere. I will be back for sure to maybe try a different fish next time or their vegan banana blossom fish substitute. It's definitely worth a visit if you love fish and seafood. Read more
I got the burger with a side salad. The side salad was just lettuce with balsamic vinaigrette and the burger was good but a little dry for my liking. My friends got the fish and chips and said the fish was a bit burnt. Also, there weren’t too many options ... to choose from on the menu for meals. Aside from that, our server was super nice, accommodating and quick with our orders. Read more
