Popeyes - Toronto, Ontario

It's Popeyes, the chicken is gonna be good. Manager was good but the other staff was a bit eh. Washroom is VERY cramped and was quite uncomfortable to use. Tables weren't clean either.

This review refers specifically to the location at Spadina and College. Bigotry is always a bad choice in customer service. I have purchased goods from this location before and been satisfied. I purchased nothing today because of the bigotry shown. i recommend boycotting this location. Here is what happened... I entered the store ... and waited behind a young woman. When she noticed I was there, she stepped aside. I moved forward to the counter with the intention of ordering. A staff person was in the kitchen area watching this unfold. He proceeded to put on an apron and remain in the kitchen despite looking directly at me. He remained in the kitchen until a colored man entered the store. He then walked out to the counter, gestured to the other man, and asked "May I help you?" As the man placed his order, I asked if there was some magic prices required to get service. The male staff pretended to not understand, but did gesture to the area in front of him. I then asked whether he thought it might have been appropriate to address me when he came out since he clearly watched me wait at the counter. He again pretended to not understand. He then asked "What are you saying?" I responded saying "I'm saying I'll pass,"and turned to leave. This he understood clearly because he answered "Okay. Whatever." For my party, I choose to not support businesses that allow open hostility toward any customer. Since Popeye's is a franchise operation, it seems appropriate to boycott only this location. Only a 1 star for the speed. I visit this location every couple of months and everytime the service is slow. Recently I was here for over 25 minutes to order and pick up food. I was only the second person in line when I entered and it was late ... afternoon, so it wasn't a super busy time of day. Employees were apologetic about it so I think they were over-worked. 25 minutes for fast food is unreasonably long. Two people in line behind me were smarter than me and saw how long I was waiting and just left. Too bad I had already paid by then :') Read more
