Pros: the falafel is made to order, very flavorful and the outside is nice and crispy. Maybe the best falafel I've had in the city. The chicken shawarma is also very flavorful. Cons: the staff do not wash their hands

Being from Ottawa, my shawarma standards are high and most places in Toronto have been disappointing. Until I found this hole in the wall. Okay... So, this was my first time at The Falafel Queen. I've walked by it every week but never tried it out, so I thought, Why not? I ordered a Falafel Platter. The lady working did not wear any gloves and picked each topping up with her bare hands.... I did not ... see if she washed her hands beforehand...The whole experience was a stomach turn. Possibly the worst shawarma i've ever had. Went here with 2 friends after Alibaba closed in the area. Tiny portions which didnt even taste great,. Also very dated (not tastefully) and not even clean looking interior. First and last time

Been coming here for over 15 years now, and I can always count on Ali to make me a delicious chicken shawarma, golden fries, his house made tahini sauce. This place is a queen west institution, and I consider the owner a friend as well as the proprietor. He keeps the ... prices as low as he can, providing nutritious, tasty, and consistently high quality food for the various income brackets in the neighbourhood. I can't count the number of times Ive been a little short and he has always given me my food with a genuine smile and zero judgement for my being broke. This place is the essence of small family run Toronto businesses that have been pushed out slowly by gentrification. Spend your money here not at McDonalds. Read more
