Eggsmart - Toronto, Ontario

I had a great experience today when I went for a breakfast. The food was healthy and taste. Had an excellent customer service experience.

I’m going to start with the positive. This is one of the nicest looking/ cleanest eggsmarts I have ever been to, very modern and comfortable. The service/ food is a whole different story… I ordered the chocoholic waffles for my child and asked if it would be ok to have ... the berries on the side as they make the waffle soggy, the waffles came with the berries on top after asking and confirming that it was ok, I asked if they could please give us a new order with the berries on the side. They took them back and just scraped the berries off the top and gave us back the soggy waffles( what I was trying to avoid) so they took them back again and brought a waffle that was not chocolate and undercooked with the right toppings the final time; this is not what was asked for and at that point was tired of going over the same thing over and over again. The chef is rude and insisted on arguing back and forth telling me I was wrong about an item that he should know how to make( chocolate waffle) not regular. He was making it seem as though I was just trying to get out of paying for them and I still did pay. This was a very uncomfortable situation and I will never return or recommend to anyone. This Eggsmart will always be special because it's the breakfast spot I've been the most with my daughter. Little touches like kids' menus and play mats definitely help in that department. I'm going to try and be objectional though haha. It's rock solid in terms of knowing the staff are awesome, you're ... getting consistent quality of food and you're going to do it in about 30-40 minutes. The food is really good, but nothing special. Pancakes are great, but table syrup is the only option. Decent selection of hot sauce for your home fries and eggs. It's really bright inside, but that's about all I can say about the atmosphere haha It's not super cool, but you're there for breakfast business and this place will get the job done with your little one smiling. Update: I recently revisited this Eggsmart and noticed a decline in the overall experience. Typically, when I order, I request a change from coffee to tea (trying to cutback), but this time, I was told there are no exceptions, and it only includes coffee. The food was decent, except for ... the toast, which was still burnt like my last visit. The coffee, ordered with 2 creams and 1 sugar, was bitter and looked inadequately creamed. It seems something has changed since my last visit, and unfortunately, this experience makes me hesitant to return. The most disappointing part was I had ordered take-out, but no utensils were given so I couldn't even eat it till lunch time. --------------------- I visited Eggsmart for takeout for the first time since their renovations, and I must say, the changes are impressive! The restaurant looks fantastic and has a very welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious (although my toast was a little more burnt than I’d like). While the restaurant itself is great, I must say that the parking lot is a bit cramped, and it can be challenging to find a parking spot, especially during peak hours. However, if you’re in the mood for some great bacon and eggs at a great price, it might be worth the wait for a spot. I do suggest you let the chef or staff know to maybe lightly toast the bread, otherwise you might get some crunchy edges. Read more

First time visiting since the renovations and can easily say I'm happy for the change. Bright, clean and spacoius. Will be visiting more often. Kids loved the fries, great new menu, staff was so friendly and positive. Everyone, including the kids finished off their plates clean. Pricing was also ... decent and fair. Read more
