I have been to this store many times over the last 40 years and have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. They are even more so when you begin by being a pleasant customer. Referring to some of the criticisms noted in a previous review, ... the boxes of assorted chocolates come sealed from the factory and are sold by weight, not number of pieces. The specific assortment in these boxes is determined by the factory, not by the staff at the store, unless you want them to hand-pack a box for you, which they have always been happy to do. The staff do not know which specific chocolates are in these boxes because it changes depending on what the factory is packing, and they cannot unseal them to show you unless you are buying the box. They have explained this to me before, and I'm sure do the same for all customers who are actually listening. Also, the context around the chocolates that can "make your stomach hurt" is important. The diabetic chocolates use a sugar substitute that can upset the stomach for people who aren't used to it. This is actually useful and important information from the staff, and I certainly appreciate them warning me about that. The decor of the store may be somewhat dated, but the store and the plaza have been there for a long time, and I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. Everything doesn't have to look like the inside of a cruise ship to be worthwhile. I like the Secord chocolates and I also like providing fair and accurate reviews. Not very welcoming. I’m not one to give a bad review, but the staff was very unfriendly, were not helpful in the slightest, especially when explaining how the chocolate boxes were priced/ how many pieces per box, and they literally explained a chocolate by saying, “it might make your stomach ... hurt.” Not to mention the aesthetic is right out of a nineties McDonald’s restaurant. This location has great selection of products. Store is clean and organized. Service was friendly and pleasant. They have peanut free, gluten free, kosher, imported and no added sugar options. Someone please open a Laura Secord in Vaughan!!!

I found that this is the only Laura Second shop open during COVID-19 locked down as they have a street entrance. I phoned and they had the chocolates🍫 I wanted. I went the next day & was able to be served outside very easily & efficiently. Wonderful customer service. I ... am happy as Laura Second chocolate covered cherries are my Mom's favorite & my Dad will look like a star as I bought them for him to give to her. I also bought a box for me. Read more

Great location, easy to find. Amazing customer service. Mary was so helpful in helping me with any questions or concerns I had. Even though I wasn't able to physically go into the store due to Covid restrictions, Mary gave me amazing service and really helped me.
