Since I have discovered Butter Avenue a view months ago, I have become seriously addicted. It is heaven! I thought I was partial to macaroons until I tried their macaroons. They also have a tea room downstairs, with a nice atmosphere, where my friend and I must have spent at least 3 ... hours last time we went. One of Toronto's best dessert place. Has a nice selection of small cakes and a great variety of macaroons and serves drinks. They also bake full size cakes but you have to order them. The macarons at Butter are always perfectly baked with a crunchy shell but light and chewy interiors. The flavours are immediately identifiable and well balanced. Very fun experience with my girls to chat and catch up while enjoying this Afternoon High Tea. Our server was very attentive to our needs and made the overall experience fun. The food was great. I chose Afternoon Picnic as my tea choice (smelled like cake). You get an option with ... sugar to add as you please. The quiche was amazing! The pastry was flakey and the meat/quail egg combo was delightful. The Lychee and Granola with Rosewater was surprisingly good. The Rosewater and Granola mix meshed well together. The actual Afternoon High Tea... I loved it because I have a sweet tooth. My other 2 friends thought it was too much and would prefer a little more savoury choices (they wanted scones).
