The line makes sense once you try it. We tried a variety of flavours as a larger group and the only miss was the grapefruit (which was right on the nose but very sour without relief), but the raspberry/white chocolate swirl, pistachio bar, and hazelnut chocolate bar were all hits. I've been wanting to try this place, and it did not disappoint! It is located on St Clair Ave West and Rushton Rd. I absolutely loved the gelato bars, even more than the soft serve (though the flavours rotate every week). I tried the pistachio and raspberry creamsicle bar, as ... well as a buttermilk and Ontario strawberry soft serve twist. The total for all three items was $18 ($6 each), including tax. Bar Ape is the only establishment I’m willing to stand in a line for. The dedication the owners have to not only perfecting their craft but to come up with new and interesting flavours every week is unmatched anywhere in the city. The gelato was great! Cash only, there are two green Ps nearby but kinda hidden, you have to devise around a little bit to find it. Always long lines but it was generally quick

A window service of delicious gelato soft serves? Count me in. The atmosphere is entirely dependent on the weather as the only seating is a couple benches outside But $6 for any soft serve or twist of two set flavours makes for a great snack on a hot day. I had the olive ... oil purely because the obscure flavour sounded interesting and was pleasantly surprised by the mild flavoured gelato. My friend had the salted caramel. I would definitely go for the olive oil with salted caramel twist if I’m in the neighbourhood again. My only complaint would be that they’re cash only in 2024.
