El Rancherito - Toronto, Ontario

I wanted to try the food at El Rancherito for a while now but I mostly cook everything from A to Z at home. When I do order takeout food I am very picky especially with the authenticity of flavours and the food being well prepared and well seasoned. I ... was pleasantly surprised with the food that we ordered. We ordered Pupusas, Quesadillas, Paella mixta and Empanadas. The food was really good and very tasty. It was seasoned properly and the flavours were spot on. The chicken quesadillas had grilled chicken and good quality cheese which added another layer of flavour. The pork and cheese Pupusas had very nicely seasoned chorizo in them, they were loaded with good quality cheese and they were very flavourful. The queso empanadas were also loaded with cheese. The Paella mixta was also very flavourful and loaded with seafood. I look forward to trying more items from their vast menu the next time we order from El Rancherito. Ok, an empty plate is what you are going to leave behind. The food was great. Home-made kind of taste, no fast food crab. Service was fast. I used to order on a consistent basis. The orders I’ve made lately have been terrible and I’ve received rotten food. First time i called I was told to call back, to make sure the next time I ordered they would make the poor service “right” When I called on the following order, ... the same individual answered the phone. In a combative manner told me off when I tried to remind him that he was the one who advised me to call and he impatiently told me to not call again. When i asked to speak to his manager he hung up the phone and disconnected the line to make sure I did not get to speak to someone higher in rank about his behaviour. If you want terrible service and your business disrespected this is the right place to get food from. They will send you rotten food, minimal portions, treat you like a kid and threaten you to go somewhere else. Read more
