Union Chicken - Toronto, Ontario

The food was good and drinks were decent! I would give Union Chicken a 4.5/5… but I’m only giving a three star rating because we had a 25% off discount towards regular price items, and we spent well over $40 on regular price items (not including alcohol or happy hour) ... and the restaurant refused to honor the discount. They first said you have to spend $40 per person (I was with my girlfriend) but the website does not say that at all! We then tried to use the presto discount of 20% on regular priced items because they advertise this (there’s no minimum spend requirement for this - group or individual) and the restaurant wouldn’t apply it either. We were just disappointed because it seemed like the manager just didn’t want to apply their promos and this turned what was otherwise a very decent experience where we would have returned to the restaurant again, into a bummer. Nice service! Place was crowded and busy. The OG fried chicken plate was really good, but not really the cauliflower bites or fried Brussels Sprout. Caesar drink was really unique and good, unlike other Caesar drinks at other places which all tasted the same.

it’s a solid burger joint, handy if you’re on your way to the airport and don’t want to buy the overpriced food there or if you’re waiting for your train. good burger, bit pricey for the portions and the taste. fries are ok, but a bit too oily. the poutine was a ... good choice, recommend trying it. definitely better alternatives in the city. It was my Graduation day and the staff made sure to make it a special occasion for me :’) I had the best time there, their game day deal are fantastic. Quite affordable and the most amazing welcoming staff ever. ‼️✨ would definitely suggest their chicken bombs 🤌🏻

Located in the heart of Union, Union chicken is a good place to stop by if you're in the station and catching a train right after. It wasn't packed nor was it empty. The interior was nice and cozy with the wooden tables and chairs with a few televisions on the ... wall playing sports channels. The food came within 10 minutes nice and hot. Everyone at my table either ordered the Nashville Lightning Hot Fried Chicken or the Union Chicken. The portions are solid, especially the fries. They're definitely not rationing. I would've liked the fries to be a bit crispier and saltier, but they weren't bad. In terms of the chicken sandwich itself, some parts I was just biting into fried batter with no meat. It was crispy and juicy but far off the best fried chicken I've ever had. My recommendation is unless you're interested in the drinks, just to head to Popeyes, Dave's Hot Chicken, or Chick-fil-A because they're considerably cheaper and better quality. Read more
