Really cool spot. I had no idea what hot pot was or how it worked but the staff were great at helping the inexperienced. The food was excellent and we never struggled to get more of the good stuff as part of the all you can eat. I debated knocking a ... star off because they don't serve booze, but I'm told they are working on getting that. In the end it's a great spot even without the drinks. It's right near Kensington anyways :) Read more
First time coming to an AYCE in Toronto and it was awesome (considering how cold it is outside, hot pot was definitely the food of choice)! It's located conveniently in the heart of Chinatown (around Spadina and Dundas) and closes late so you don't have to worry about not being ... able to make it out for a late dinner! We got here at 9pm on Sunday and left around 11pm. The only thing to keep in mind is that for groups under 6 people, you can't make a reservation. I've been to the Morals Village in Richmond, B.C. and the biggest difference was that in Toronto, it was AYCE and in Vancouver, it's a la carte. Food quality and selection is similar but the price difference is cfv drastically different as you can imagine. I know many people didn't give favorable reviews mainly because of the service but honestly, I don't expect much when I go to an Asian restaurant. However, I felt that we were taken care of by our waitress tonight as she consistently checked in on us to make sure we were doing OK, had enough food, topped off our soup many times, and ensured our glasses weren't empty - even though we only had water. Overall, for an AYCE hotpot restaurant, Morals Village checked off almost everything that I'm looking for; it was affordable, had a great selection of food to choose from, it tasted great, we had great service, and the atmosphere was nice. I would definitely come back here again but would probably choose another soup base as my original spicy soup was quite overpowering (to a point where I barely used the sauce I made) Read more
Great staff, very polite and efficient. Cozy environment and great food! Their dessert/snacks are a great touch too, especially with the condensed milk. Love the food selection and all the utensils are clean. It's a bit pricy but worth it if you're not going too frequently! Perfect warm winter comfort foods.
Over priced! If they can lower the price, then probably 4 stars. The place is generally clean. Probably the cleanest Chinese hotpot experience I had ever. It appeals well to the Chinese audience, but I'm not sure how this would be received by non-asian. Would recommend if someone's looking for a hotpot place ... but wouldn't generally think of this place to take people to. Don't think I'll be back. Read more
Not the best hot pot and only three different sliced meats of just descent quality, however they have other options and it’s definitely not a bad place to go and I also found the staff to be super helpful and friendly. A bit lacking in the sauce station also since ... many sauces are not components but already prepared sauces. Read more
