My favourite asian food spot. They have Singaporean, Malaysian, Hong Kong food in big portions for a VERY reasonable price. - Chicken Rice: 5/5 LOVED THIS, reminds me of what my mom makes at home. The ginger garlic oil thing is SOOOO good. I highly recommend this. - Cha Kwetiau (i forgot how ... its spelled on the menu sry): 5/5 Well seasoned, generous with toppings, strong WOK HEY!! This gets my approval (means alot coming from an Indonesian who grew up eating Kwetiau). - Nasi Lemak: 3.5/5 [no pic sry] It wasn't as flavourful as I expected it to be, all of the chicken, rice, and chilli sauce. It was spicy enough tho! Their soy milk is great too, not too sweet. Overall, very food flavours and worth the price! Friendly and quick service too. Read more
Delicious Malaysian food that’s pretty hard to find in Toronto. Cash only Nasi lemak was pretty good, but the standout was definitely the sambal. Really spicy and lingers in your mouth Char kway teow was really tasty and reminded me of eating it on the streets of Penang. Noodles were pretty smoky ... and the taste of soy sauce really came through. The fish head curry with vermicelli was rich, creamy and slightly spicy. A little like laksa but not the same level of heat. They also do Ikan Bakar (not on the menu) but you have to order it an hour ahead. Read more
Nasi Lemak special comes with a small bowl of soup and a drink of your choice. The dish includes rice, spicy chicken, sambal (chilli sauce), egg, cucumber, peanuts, anchovies. The rice is dry and has only a barely noticeable hint of coconut; it couldn’t be called the real nasi lemak ... since it doesn’t have the rich coconut milk taste with the fragrant pandan leaf. The super hard boiled egg is only slightly fried. Although a little dry and tough, the spicy chicken tastes good. The sambal has a good kick and might be too spicy for those who don’t eat spicy food. Best Nasi lemak in down town toronto. Brought me back to hawker culture in singapore and Malaysia. This shop situated in the china town mall is a hidden gem for the people who love Singaporean and Malaysian food. The service is great and the portion size is faily reasonable for the ... price as well. Nasi lemak was the best item. Chicken was slightly old but the sambal made everything better. I tried the spicy option and it was almost at the authentic level. Nasi lemak had everything whixh made the malays proud. The small fish were also offered. The food was served on a banana leaf. Be aware of the spicy levels. The hainanese chicken rice was tasty as well. It reminded me of penang. The white chicken with rice cooked with chicken oil was amazing. Singaporean rice noodles was amazing as well. Generous amount of meat was added as well. The soup and the drinks were great. Read more
Best Char Kuay Teow I have tasted in the city! It has all the authentic ingredients: garlic chives, Chinese sausage, plump bean sprouts, fried crispy lard bits, shrimp, and some tasty Sambal on the side!
