We always stop into the Avenue when we're on the east end. They did not disappoint us. We ordered all of our fav apps - shrimp wontons, pepper shrimp, and wings. We also ordered a special fried rice with fried chicken and jerk chicken on top. ... Everything was so good! Our server, Brandon, turned out to be the owner. Nice guy, checked up on us regularly, made sure my water was always topped up without me asking. He was also really good about making sure other tables and floors were cleaned every time another table cleared. There are two sides, one is a nice lounge and the other is an open room with tables. The pepper fish was crispy, not greasy and the pepper sauce was full of flavour with good amount of spiciness to it. Enjoyed the fried rice too. Although, $15 for a lunch special with no drink seems a bit pricy. The chili chicken poutine was very bland and wouldn’t recommend ... that one. The food is phenomenal and delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic. I have celebrated 3 birthdays here. I always introduce my friends to this restaurant. Everyone loves the food and the music. I highly recommend. Even when doing takeout, Avenue restaurant goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Went year after a long time and ordered the special chicken fried rice on top. Was really good and the pepper sauce is good had to pay for an extra one as 1 is just not enough. Will come back for there wings which I heard are really good. Good friendly service and ... it is fairly priced as you would get almost anywhere else. Read more

I’ve always had this place on my bucket list but never got around to dining this this establishment. I was very excited to try seeing as I would have another restaurant checked off my list. Excited and hungry we were greeted by a bigger lady at the front of the restaurant ... whose attitude was a bit stank. Almost threw off our whole experience thank god the food made up for it. A gentlemen took or order and served us, he was very kind. The chilli chicken poutine was 10/10. Highly recommend and the chicken fried rice and chicken was immaculate. Reasonable prices for great quality food. On our way out we walked past the bigger lady and I said “ have a good day” and she turned her nose up at us. Just a tip how you’re greeted in a restaurant is the first step to the dining experience and definitely has a big impact on the restaurant in general. Hopefully that part of the experience is better next time. Not to sure if she’s the owner or not but that doesn’t justify the rudeness. Take this as positive reinforcement.
