Taylor’s Landing - Toronto, Ontario

I came to Taylor’s Landing for brunch expecting to have a pleasant experience. However, this ended up being an upsetting experience that could have been avoided. The staff are pleasant and understanding , however there seems to be an immense disconnect between service and kitchen. My family waited an hour and a ... half for our food, and the food was “below sub par.” When I acknowledged that there was barely any smoked salmon I told “that’s how it comes.” I asked to pay for more smoked salmon and unfortunately was denied. Second, my dish came with 1.5? Poached eggs which illustrates that there is no quality control at the kitchen level. People were being told that the wait for food is an hour which adds salt to the wound seeing that the restaurant was at 25% capacity. The server said that they were not Short staffed indicating that this level of slow absent service is the normal expectation. People were leaving and there was no genuine attempt to satisfy customers except to give excuses about the kitchen being slow. The staff was understanding of our wait times, but it could not compensate for the overall terrible experience. It’s really unfortunate how the service of this place has gone down drastically as I used to regularly attend her. I am writing this review as a warning for future patrons to not have high expectations as with patio season it will only get busier and if today is any indicator of their service it will only get worse. It's a very beautiful place, and the waitresses were very nice and friendly, which those 2 stars are for them, we went there for brunch and ordered breakfast skillet, the portions of it was like happy meals for kids, maybe even smaller and on the menu says it comes with ... fresh fruits and we didn't have any, the taste was Meh... nothing special, and it says hash potatoes, but it was some some fried potato cubes, and they were old. My friend asked about some toast because of the small portion, but it never came. My mom ordered Avocado toeat Benedict, same problem with hash potatoes, also the coffee was very very bad, I don't know about other meals, but ours was very disappointing, I don't know about thier cocktails but not recommended at all for brunch, even 2 stars is too much Read more

Rob the store manager was very welcoming, and kept coming around to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy to evening. The meals were worth every penny spent. I definitely will be back.

Taylors Landing was a last minute decision, but it was a good one! The decor was very rustic and it had a very vibrant atmosphere. We did not make a reservation and we were able to be seated quickly. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were always checked on to ... make sure everything was okay. Since we were celebrating our four year anniversary, the restaurant offered a complimentary dessert! We chose the sticky toffee pudding and it was delicious. The food was decent. There was nothing really special or memorable to it, but it was filling and good for a last minute decision. We ordered the nachos with beef ($18.50 + $3) and the Korean cauliflower to start. The Korean cauliflower ($16.50) tasted really good, however it was not as crispy as we're used to. They were a bit soggy but it was seasoned very well. The nachos all together tasted decent, the beef crumble however, was not very small. It was sort of like having nachos with beef meatballs on top. We then ordered the Landing Burger with a side of fries. There was nothing really special about this burger, we think the patty could have used a bit more seasoning. It also needed some kind of sauce (mayo, ketchup) as it was a bit dry. We were just expecting more from a burger that is $19.50. The dessert was the most memorable aspect of this dinner. The cocktails however, were made very well. We had a Malibu Rum and Coke and it was mixed perfectly. It was the customer service that made this experience worthwhile despite the underwhelming food. Taylors Landing is conveniently located in CF Shops at Don Mills which is easily accessible by public transit and there are plenty of free parking lots and a garage. Overall, Taylors Landing is a good restaurant for a last minute choice. It was the great customer service and friendly staff that will definitely have us visiting once more. Superb and cozy ambience, perfect for our company holiday social, love the food and staff. Rob, the store manager was very friendly and professional, recommended us the drinks and made sure we are satisfied with the taste, love it. Also to Owen, sweet young man, service crew, thanks for your ... excellent service! shoutout to Cheyenne, we love our mini burgers they are delicious, thanks for serving them all the way to the back end tables.
