Moxie’s Grill & Bar - Toronto, Ontario

We went to Moxie’s for a late dinner after a Blue Jays game on a Friday night. Our server Holly was amazing. She was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was also fantastic - we had two orders of chicken tenders with fries, and the chicken and cashew lettuce ... wraps. The portions were pretty large. I only took off one star for atmosphere because my parents (who are mid-late 50’s, so not particularly aged) both needed their phone flashlights to read the menus due to the dim mood lighting. Very tasty but costly! The staff were all very friendly and helpful with everything we needed help with, such as dietary restrictions and general questions about cocktails and dishes. The food was neatly displayed and at a perfect temperature, so no worries about burning your mouth or eating cold! The wide selection of ... meals and drinks makes this a great place for celebrations (as we did), but I warn everyone that this will not be a cheap meal. But if you're here for the location and proxy to stadiums and halls and what have you, then go for it! Read more

I recently went downtown for a quick lunch and decided on the salad. When it arrived, it looked great and tasted good; however, as soon as I left the establishment, I got sick. Now, I believe in giving places a fair chance and thought it could've been because I ... had yet to eat that day. So, I decided to return, and I was the first person in the restaurant right when it opened. I decided to reorder the same salad as a test to see whether it could've been a one-off. Well, once received, I started eating, and it tasted a little off. When I looked at my plate, I noticed the avocado spoiled. I understand if there's a rush in orders with many other diners; however, I was the FIRST person in the restaurant, so there was no excuse. Went for lunch and got the potstickers (dumplings) to start, it's always been my favourite (sorry, no photos) but it's so flavourful and delicious! For my main, I got the blacked Mahi Mahi fish. I'm not big fish fan, but this whole dish was put together so well. I've literally ... never had a meal this good in YEARS! Apparently it was only brought on to the menu a few months ago but I begged the waitress to tell the manager to keep it on the menu! Salads were good but I would ask for the dressing on the side next time. A nice spot to come for a work lunch as it’s not as loud and crowded as some other places in the area.
