Hastings Snack Bar is located just off Queen with a side entrance into a cozy restaurant with countertop seating for maybe 14 people. We’ve tried to visit before but were met with a long line. But today we were lucky. Being Eastern European background I had to try Tata’s lunch which ... is a mix of pirogies, cabbage roll, kielbasa, sauerkraut and pickles. Everything was made in house and fresh, truly homemade cooking, nothing was wrong. I’m sure the breakfast and other items are of similar quality. I almost don't want to write this review because I want to gatekeep this place from everyone and enjoy it all to myself. Sit at the counter and enjoy the feeling of sitting at home with family; truly the coziest spot to sit with a morning cup of coffee. Amazing, attentive and ... truly genuine service that cannot be beat. I enjoyed the polish breakfast and my companion had cabbage roll and pierogies. We got 2 donuts to go, plum and custard. So glad I found this place. Quaint Mom & Pop Shop. Absolutely love it. Authentic Polish food. Had the breakfast plate and can't wait to go for the lunch/dinner one. Will definitely repeat.
