Sam James Coffee Bar - Toronto, Ontario

A quaint and quiet coffee spot in the financial district. It's a great spot for a pick me up. The rotating baristas are friendly and talented. The coffee tastes great. There is also a selection of pastries. I recommend the chocolate croissant or the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.

Very small location, great for grab & go, Vanilla Latte was just right for my taste.

I love all the SJCBs. I like this location a lot because I work downtown and typically live in the PATH. Often I get off the streetcar early and go to Toronto street to get my coffee then sit on the bench in front and just chill before work. The ... outdoor time and very short walk adds some positivity to my morning. The baristas are also super nice (a lot also work at the location in the PATH). Sometimes they shoot movies/tv on Toronto street in front of Adelaide nearby as well. They are not cash only anymore which is convenient (esp for buying beans cuz I never have enough cash) but I try to pay cash for coffee cuz I work in the financial services industry and know that fees for debit or credit transactions can be high for small businesses. Coffee is great and the service is amazing. I didn’t realize they were cash only till i got there, they still took my order and allowed me to come back and pay when i had the chance (couldn’t do that, i ran into the closest bank and came back right ... away). Very small....very white...great coffee and pleasant staff. No seating, which is a plus in some odd way.... well there is a bench outside.
