I tried to figure out how to send an email to Bloor Street Diner directly before posting a review, but unfortunately, the only address I could find was one for making reservations. There is a phone number but you would probably just reach someone on the floor. The reason that I ... hesitated at first about writing publicly is because I've had good experiences here, in the past. The only other really bad experience was on Mother's Day a couple of years ago. They lowered the standards of food and service , perhaps to accommodate the volume of customers, but that is not the way to do things. I wouldn't go back for Mother's Day again, but I did give them another chance. Today, January 2nd of 2017, a friend and I went by in the mid-afternoon for dessert and drinks. An older couple next to us looked over at one point and the gentleman said, "I guess she's not happy to be working today." We all have bad days, but we can't go around making it bad for others, especially at a place of work. I am not discouraging people from trying Bloor Street Diner out. Maybe letters like mine will prompt the owners to re-emphasize the importance of respect, basic courtesy and professionalism. The food in the cafe as well as the dining room, is generally enjoyable. As mentioned earlier, I would be happy to provide more details about this experience, upon request.. Read more
