Eager to try their wagyu burger with sweet potato fries, I found the experience to be a mix of highs ... and lows. The wagyu burger, touted for its premium quality, unfortunately fell short as it turned out quite dry. This was disappointing given the expectation of juiciness and tenderness typically associated with wagyu beef. On the flip side, the sweet potato fries were a delight, perfectly seasoned and crisp. The atmosphere at District Restaurant and Bar is undeniably vibrant, making it an ideal spot for a night out with friends or colleagues. The restaurant's location adds to its charm, surrounded by theaters and bars, creating a bustling environment that enhances the overall dining experience. During my visit, we took advantage of happy hour and were pleased with the variety and quality of drinks available. The cocktail menu was creative, offering a good mix of classic and innovative concoctions. However, while the drinks were enjoyable, the service was a bit hit-and-miss. While the staff was friendly and polite, there were noticeable lapses in attentiveness during peak hours, which affected the overall dining experience. Despite these drawbacks, District Restaurant and Bar remains a decent choice for those looking for a casual dining experience in a lively setting. With some improvements in food consistency and service efficiency, it has the potential to be a standout in the area. I rarely give 1-star reviews, but when I do, it's because a restaurant exhibits very poor service, takes shortcuts, or employs bad/deceptive sales tactics. Unfortunately, District ticked all these boxes for me, making it a place I won't revisit. While walking downtown, I noticed a happy hour sign advertising an $8.50 ... espresso martini, which initially drew me in. Upon entering, I found the rooftop patio cozy and charming with a warm atmosphere, seeming promising at first. However, our server lacked energy and enthusiasm, which significantly impacted our dining experience. Despite requesting napkins twice, they were slow to provide them. We ordered drinks and decided on the hummus flight and Jerk chicken wings. To our disappointment, no plates, forks, or cutlery were brought to us. The Jerk chicken wings were overly salty with an off seasoning, and disappointingly small for the price. The hummus flight, advertised as including beet hummus, was missing this component and substituted with a mere garnish of arugula, despite us paying $14 during happy hour. This kind of bait-and-switch felt deceptive and like a poor business practice. Halfway through our meal, we still had no plates or cutlery until we requested them from the hostess. The overall lack of service and mediocre quality of the food made what could have been a great hangout spot into a very disappointing dining experience. Nice patio with great food options and service! Note that brunch has limited options compared to later in the day. The service was amazing. The staff went out to their way to make sure we had a good experience.

Really good food but waitress could have been more attentive. We sat outside on a hot day for 20 minutes waiting for our drinks and were not even brought or offered water, meanwhile all of the other tables were being served besides us.

The zucchini pesto pasta was solid, but lemme tell you about their cocktails. Daym they really surprised to the upside. The fuzzy peach was yummy, but I loved the fresh takes with a gingerbread espresso martini and hazelnut sour!
