Caffe Demetre - Toronto, Ontario

We were greeted by one host right away and we were able to select our own seats. We ordered the Blue My Mind Liège Waffle and Stormy Weather Iced Coffee. Iced coffee hit the spot with the espresso with ice cream and caramel. However, the waffle was questionable. The toppings itself ... were great, fresh, and decadent but the Liège waffle was undercooked. We asked our server if it was supposed to be made that way and he reassured us with confidence that it was supposed to be like that. To our understanding, after researching at home, the Liège waffle is supposed to be a combination of a Belgian waffle and brioche but ours today was chewy on the outside and raw, gummy, wet, and had cake-like batter on the inside. This is such an amazing place and my favourite for waffles and ice cream. Honestly, I haven't tried anything else since I'm so obsessed over the waffles. Honestly, these are the best waffles I've ever tried in my life, anywhere! There's something very special about them (in the dough) but ... it makes them taste so gooood! My fav is Pretty in pink, but all of them are just great. You can change the ice cream flavor to make a combination to your taste if you want. Ice cream is so creamy and rich, so good. It's a big waffle and it's loaded! It's a lot of calories and sugar for sure but so worth it! The place is really nice and cute, not very comfy though. They have crepes, cakes, cheesecakes and so many more things (I'm sure they're really good too). Read more

Demetres on Danforth is worth the visit. The interior is absolutely lovely. The ice creams were delicious and we ordered some tea for our visit. The server did an excellent job in taking care of our tables aswell. They were very courteous and assured we had a great time. Thank you!

The interior is nice and its very instagrammable which I like :). Their washroom is very clean and for the service, it’s fine. The server is nice and polite. Their price range are very reasonable because it’s really good and its a big serving for one people.

A great place for getting some delicious calories! The waffles and ice cream is amazing! Been there twice and Will go there again for sure!
