Coffee/Food: had a cortado here that was pretty yummy. They use local organic ingredients as well as fair trade coffee which is amazing! They've got vegan goodies as well and alternatives to milk for anyone looking for that (though I did not try these). Space/Ambiance: low key, peaceful quirky cafe in ... Kensington. There are communal tables for working as well as individual ones (high and standard size). They have a patio in the back where you can work as well and during the summer it's just gorgeous and super cozy (of course they close it during winter). They also have free Wi-Fi here for you to work. Accessibility: There is a small step right in front of the cafe which would make it difficult for someone in a wheelchair and the entrance is also quite narrow. No washroom in sight on the main floor but may be one downstairs. Read more
I love this place early in the morning when it's quiet. The coffee is tasty, and the treats too. Set up shop for doing homework here is really nice and not stressful at all. Has wifi, nice front window for lots of sunshine, and a few plugs!
Really wanted to like this place since it seems like a cool cafe in my neighbourhood. Went a few times and staff always came across like affectless hipsters and prices are super high. Latest experience was a bit of a change up since the server's boyfriend was there... ... she managed to spend her ample downtime engaging in inappropriate PDA while he attempted to say "bro" at the start and end of every sentence while bragging about how shallow he is. 2 stars because the place looks nice. Though my almond milk latte was enjoyable, the cinnamon buns for which Cafe Novo is lauded were a bit of a disappointment. The dough was chewy and the whole affair was light on flavour. Furthermore, and more to the point of why I have given them 3 stars, is because they ... are absolutely stroller and wheelchair inaccessible. The main door rises up 3 steps and the front garage-door is completely blocked by a sit-at bar. Had I not attended the cafe with my son in a stroller I am not sure I would have noticed but being bound to the ground by 4 wheel I cannot help but notice how difficult it is to enter the establishment. Correcting the issue, however, would be a simple matter of removing part of the east-end of the seating bar so that when the garage door is open, wheeled traffic could just roll on in. I will attend Cafe Novo again to give their cinnamon buns another chance but only when I do not have a stroller with me or when there is someone else to watch my son. Read more

Ordered a coffee and to my surprise, they used fresh grounds and a french press. Not many places I know still do that. I also appreciate how they had a re-usable plastic cups and a cold water dispenser with lemon in the back available for patrons. A ... few more coffee alternatives or being open for longer hours would be appreciated. Read more
