Good location, always enjoy grabbing brunch and walking in bellwoods park after. Glad to see their original menu items. Standard breakfast is really good with freshly squeezed OJ. Good service. Recommend.

I had a lovely experience here, went on a weekday before the dinner crowd. Enjoyed a apple pie milkshake and nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly.

I REALLY hope someone at Lakeview sees this to reassure me that my most recent experience was a fluke and they were just having a bad day because I love this place so much. I went for brunch about two weeks ago and ordered the pancakes with blueberries as usual. It ... took us a looong 35minutes to get our food. Maybe it was a particularly busy day, but our waitress didn’t come by once to check on us, not even to bring the coffee we had first ordered until we tracked her down. I come to Lakeview for their delicious, fluffy, thick pancakes but this time, they were so flat and doughy. The first picture is what I got that day, and the second picture is of the pancakes I got just a month-ish before that — the difference is crazy! I was so disappointed. My partner ordered eggs benny and they were also tough, not hot and the potatoes were soggy, not like their usual crispy, perfectly seasoned potatoes. The Lakeview Diner just needs a little bit more love and care. I don't normally leave reviews under 4 stars, but I'm pretty disappointed after my visit here. This was my first time visiting The Lakeview Diner, after hearing all about it from TV shows filmed in its interior. The ... inside is pretty charming, but it's the food and service that fall short. Our table of four ordered drinks before food, which took 15 minutes to arrive. I ordered the Mac and Cheese plate that comes with a side of seasonal veggies and/or (?) a salad. When my meal arrived, it was just a plate of Mac and Cheese. I asked the server if there were any sides that come with the meal, to which she responded "there can be sides". Confused, I pointed to what it said on the menu, and she let me know that they did not have any seasonal veggies, but that she could do a salad. I wonder what the problem was with just serving the salad alongside the Mac and Cheese to begin with, as written on the menu? After dinner, I ordered an apple pie (delicious!) but had to grab a fork from the shelf as it was served without cutlery. All this being said, maybe the issue is not patron neglect, but just understaffing. I couldn't help but notice there was only one server for the entire place on a Tuesday evening. If you plan on stopping by here, maybe just grab a desert or milkshake, as those didn't disappoint, but perhaps have dinner elsewhere. Read more
